On June 7-8th, 2016 Global Clean Tech & Green Finance Summit / First Annual Meeting of 3iPET was hosted at the Beijing International Convention Center. Mr. Qiurun Huang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People’s Republic of China, attended and spoke at the event.
The annual meeting was co-organized by Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) and Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences (CSES). A total of 300 guests attended the meeting, including representatives from department of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Water Resources, UNIDO , UNEP, World Bank, Asian Development Bank , the European Union Delegation to China , Embassies, as well as a number of research institutions, industry associations, and foreign environmental protection enterprises.
Minister Huang spoke at the opening ceremony, “Environmental technology should continue with innovative breakthroughs; environmental technology management system and mechanism should be reformed; and the level of scientific and technological achievements should be enhanced. Furthermore, it is important to learn and introduce international advanced environmental technologies to China, encourage international cooperation, and promote environmentally advanced domestic enterprises to ‘go out ‘.”
U.S. – China Cleantech Center (UCCTC) was officially awarded as the partner for International Platform for Environmental Technology (3iPET), and was invited as the international partner to present at the event. Ms. Maya Ben Dror, UCCTC’s Senior Manager of International Cooperation, spoke and introduced UCCTC’s work regarding international cooperation in the field of environmental technologies, technologies transfer, and financing and investments. Ms. Maya Ben Dror also expressed UCCTC’s appreciations towards FECO and 3iPET for their great support for the 2016 U.S.-China Cleantech Innovation Forum that was hosted in Los Angeles in May.
